2026 AFL Mock Draft Predictions Released

The first edition of the 2026 AFL Mock Draft outlines potential selections, trades, and anticipated bids for the opening round.

The inaugural AFL Mock Draft for 2026 has been released, detailing 18 selections along with matched bids and trades expected in the first round.

Currently, the draft order includes 20 picks, with Essendon positioned at Pick 1. Anticipated bids for Academy and father-son prospects may alter the order significantly, as clubs will need to utilize their two earliest picks to match these bids.

Two pre-draft trades have already occurred: Carlton traded Pick 18 and their 2027 first-round pick to Adelaide for Picks 15 and 32, while Brisbane exchanged Picks 27 and 28 along with a 2027 first-round pick tied to St Kilda for Pick 19. Dougie Cochrane, a highly regarded prospect from Port Adelaide, is expected to be a key focus, particularly if Essendon places a bid on him.
