2026 Grand Chess Tour Finals Set to Begin in Saint Louis
The 2026 Grand Chess Tour Finals will take place this weekend in Saint Louis, featuring the top four players from the tour: Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, Wesley So, Fabiano Caruana, and Vincent Keymer. This event follows the Sinquefield Cup, the last regular-season competition of the tour.
Praggnanandhaa finished the season in first place with 35½ points, followed closely by So with 34½ points. Caruana secured third place with 29½ points, while Keymer qualified fourth with 28½ points, just ahead of Javokhir Sindarov. The knockout stage will see Praggnanandhaa face Keymer and So take on Caruana in the semifinals.
The Finals will feature a total prize fund of $450,000, with the winner receiving $200,000. Matches will consist of classical, rapid, and blitz games, and will be held at the expanded Saint Louis Chess Club. Live coverage will be available on the club's YouTube and Twitch channels.
