2026 U.S. Presidents Cup Team Takes Shape with Six Qualifiers

The U.S. Presidents Cup team for 2026 is now partially formed, with six players securing their spots following the BMW Championship. This event marked the conclusion of the qualifying window for the international team competition scheduled at Medinah Country Club from September 24-27.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the qualifiers, having recently won the St. Jude Championship. He is joined by Cameron Young, the Players Championship winner, and Wyndham Clark, who claimed his third title of the year at the BMW Championship. Clark's victory propelled him from seventh to third in the standings, while Ben Griffin dropped from fifth to eighth after finishing T44.

All six qualifiers have prior experience in both the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup, with Clark being the only one who did not participate in last fall's Ryder Cup. U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker expressed pride in the team's composition, highlighting their proven ability to perform under pressure. The final six captain's selections will be made on September 1 at 5 p.m. ET.
