2027 AFL Fixture Released with Difficulty Ratings for All Clubs
The fixture for the 2027 AFL season has been officially released, comprising 24 rounds and six double-ups for each team, alongside intense rivalry match-ups.
Determining the difficulty of each team's schedule is complex, as club performances can vary significantly from season to season. For instance, West Coast, which finished 16th in 2026, has been assigned the second hardest fixture, while Richmond, in 17th place, has the easiest. Brisbane, the reigning premier, faces the fourth hardest draw, and Hawthorn, a Preliminary Final opponent, has the third hardest. In contrast, Fremantle, another Grand Finalist, has the fourth easiest schedule.
Geelong and Sydney have also received favorable fixtures, rated as the third and second easiest, respectively. The difficulty ratings are based on a system that assigns points to teams according to their previous season's performance, with the top team receiving 18 points and the last team receiving one point.
