2027 AFL Origin Match Scheduled for February 27 at Optus Stadium
The AFL Origin match featuring Western Australia and South Australia is set for Saturday, February 27, 2027, at 4:40 PM AWST at Optus Stadium. This event marks the revival of AFL Origin, which has not seen these states compete in a competitive match for 30 years.
This match will commemorate 50 years since the inaugural State of Origin match held in 1977 at Subiaco Oval. The AFL has confirmed that the future of AFL Origin is secured until 2029, following the successful return of the format earlier this year.
AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon expressed excitement about the upcoming clash, highlighting the significance of the rivalry and the venue. Western Australian Premier Roger Cook also noted the economic benefits the event will bring to the state. Tickets will be available starting December 2 for club members and December 3 for the general public.
