42 AFL Players Without Contracts for 2027 Season
A total of 42 players are currently without confirmed contracts for the 2027 AFL season, placing them in a state of uncertainty after the trade period has ended.
As clubs finalize their rosters, 16 out of the 18 AFL teams have at least one player without a contract. Notably, Adelaide and Melbourne have completed their lists ahead of the upcoming draft in November. North Melbourne and Richmond have the highest number of unsigned players, with five each, while Brisbane is considering the future of four players, including Conor McKenna.
Fremantle has expressed interest in retaining Jaren Carr for 2027, but the decision on whether he will be placed on the rookie list or the primary list remains pending. The Western Bulldogs also have four players without contracts following a busy trade and free agency period.
