The incident unfolded on Instagram, where Hankerson posted a joke about Love, who is accused of impersonating a 49ers player while allegedly conducting a romance and investment fraud scheme.

The post featured a doctored image of Hankerson coaching Love in 49ers gear. The playful exchange drew comments from former 49ers player Kendrick Bourne, who engaged with Hankerson's joke, further fueling the online mockery surrounding Love's situation.

Love and his alleged accomplice, Taylor Chan, were arrested on August 24 at Boise Airport and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Prosecutors claim that Love misrepresented himself to women online as a 49ers player or a wealthy investor, leading to approximately $1.3 million being sent by at least 26 victims. The FBI suspects there may be more victims involved.
