49ers Experience Scuffles During First Day in Pads

This incident was followed by another confrontation between linebacker Fred Warner and tight end Jake Tonges, which drew in several other players before coaches intervened.

Chris Foerster, the offensive line coach who is temporarily acting as head coach while Kyle Shanahan recovers from injuries, commented that such scuffles are common on the first day in pads. He described them as a natural occurrence as players aim to establish intensity, although he expressed a desire for calmer practices moving forward, especially considering the injury histories of some participants.
