49ers Owner Jed York Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Jed York, the owner of the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested in a police sting operation in Ohio after he sent text messages over two days to a woman he thought was a prostitute. This incident occurred in East Palestine, Ohio, where he used an alias to communicate with her.

According to a police report, York inquired about the woman's services and was informed that the cost was $160 for full service. After arriving at a mobile home park, he was stopped by police, who seized the cash he had brought. York was charged initially with engaging in prostitution, but this was later amended to disorderly conduct. He pleaded no contest to both charges and received a one-day jail sentence, which he had already served, along with a fine of $1,150.

York has been in Ohio for most of the summer and is currently going through a divorce. The NFL is reviewing the situation under its personal conduct policy, while the 49ers organization stated that the legal matter has been resolved and would not comment further. Coach Kyle Shanahan expressed confidence that the incident would not affect the team's operations.
