49ers Place WR Ricky Pearsall on Season-Ending Injured Reserve
The San Francisco 49ers have announced that wide receiver Ricky Pearsall will be placed on injured reserve, ending his third NFL season prematurely.
General Manager John Lynch confirmed that Pearsall's lingering PCL injury, which has persisted since 2025, necessitates surgery. As a result, he will not be eligible to return to the team until 2027.
Pearsall, a first-round draft pick in 2024, faced significant challenges early in his career, including a delay in his debut due to a shooting incident during a robbery attempt. Throughout his career, he has recorded 67 receptions for 928 yards and three touchdowns. Recently, the 49ers re-signed receiver Deebo Samuel and may look to add more depth to their receiving corps, which currently includes veteran Mike Evans.
