49ers Rookie DE Mikail Kamara Injured During Practice

Mikail Kamara, a rookie defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers, was carted off the practice field during training camp today after suffering an apparent knee injury.

Witnesses reported that Kamara appeared to be injured while participating in drills. The undrafted free agent from Indiana had previously been recognized as the Defensive Player of the Game in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Kamara, who played six years under coach Curt Cignetti, was anticipated to compete for a roster position as a pass rusher and contribute on special teams.
