49ers Sign Khalid Kareem to Active Roster Ahead of Season Opener
The San Francisco 49ers have signed defensive end Khalid Kareem from the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad in preparation for their season opener in Australia.
Kareem, who spent the last two years with the Falcons, was recently released by the New York Giants. During his time with Atlanta, he recorded 11 tackles across six regular season games. Previously, he also played in 28 games for the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, and Cincinnati Bengals.
In addition to this signing, the 49ers announced that Sam Okuayinonu will not participate in the upcoming game against the Rams. The status of Nick Bosa, who is recovering from an ACL injury, remains uncertain. Other defensive ends on the active roster include Keion White and third-round draft pick Romello Height.
