49ers Trade Zamir White to Saints for Deion Jones
The New Orleans Saints have acquired running back Zamir White from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for linebacker Deion Jones, according to a report by ESPN on Sunday.
Both players recently signed with their respective teams as free agents before being traded. The Saints are seeking additional depth at running back due to Alvin Kamara's expected absence of 4-6 weeks due to a sprained MCL. New Orleans also signed Travis Etienne to a four-year deal worth $12 million annually, but plans to utilize a committee approach in their backfield.
White, who is 27, was previously with the Las Vegas Raiders, where he played six games last season. He has a career total of 198 rushing attempts for 736 yards and two touchdowns. Deion Jones, 31, played all 17 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season and has a notable career record, including a Pro Bowl selection and significant contributions to multiple teams since being drafted in 2016.
