49ers Wide Receiver Ricky Pearsall to Miss Entire 2026 Season Due to Knee Injury

Ricky Pearsall, a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the entire 2026 season after undergoing surgery for a persistent PCL injury, as announced by general manager John Lynch.

Pearsall's injury issues began last season when he missed eight games due to a PCL problem. Recently, he experienced swelling in his right knee during training camp, prompting the decision for surgery. The 49ers expect him to fully recover in time for the 2027 season.

Since being drafted in the first round in 2024, Pearsall has faced multiple injuries, including a shoulder injury that limited his rookie training camp and a shooting incident prior to his debut season. In his two seasons, he has recorded 67 catches for 928 yards and three touchdowns over 20 games. To bolster their receiving corps, the 49ers have re-signed former player Deebo Samuel on a one-year contract worth $7 million.
