49ers WR Mike Evans Exits Joint Practice Early Due to Tightness
Mike Evans, a wide receiver for the 49ers, left the team's joint practice early on Tuesday due to tightness. Initially, he had ice wrapped around his left foot and ankle, but later, only his quad was treated with an ice pack.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that the decision to remove Evans from practice was precautionary, stating that he does not believe the issue is serious. Evans had previously strained his quadriceps during practice on August 1 and had just returned to the field on August 15.
In related news, fellow wide receiver Christian Kirk remains sidelined after suffering a calf strain during the first practice of training camp. Shanahan expressed concern for Kirk, who had a similar injury during OTAs and has been unable to participate fully.
