49ers WR Ricky Pearsall to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

Ricky Pearsall, a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, will undergo surgery on his right knee and be placed on season-ending injured reserve, as announced by general manager John Lynch.

Pearsall, who is set to turn 26 in September, previously missed eight games in 2025 due to a PCL injury in the same knee. The 49ers have taken steps to address his absence by reuniting with former star receiver Deebo Samuel, who will participate in practice.

Lynch indicated that the recovery period from PCL surgery typically ranges from six to twelve months, with nine months being a common timeframe. Pearsall has played in only 20 games over two seasons, having missed time due to a shooting incident in 2024 and various injuries last season. The team is also dealing with multiple injuries, including those affecting veteran Christian Kirk and running back Jordan James.
