A2RL's First International Race Takes Place at Imola

The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) hosted its first international race at the Imola circuit in Italy this weekend, marking a significant milestone for the series. This event is notable as it is the first time A2RL has raced outside of Yas Marina.

Five teams participated, including Polimove, Unimore Racing, Kinetiz, Constructor University, and reigning champions TUM. The race format differed from previous events, as it was part of a larger weekend with human-piloted vehicles sharing the pitlane. Teams had only ten days to prepare, utilizing a digital version of the Imola track for simulation training.

During the race, Unimore Racing initially led, but a sensor failure caused their car to stop, leading to a collision with Polimove. Kinetiz ultimately won the race, marking a historic victory as the first international winner in A2RL history. The event highlighted the evolution of autonomous racing technology and its potential applications beyond the sport.
