Aakash Chopra Addresses Trolling After India's Victory Over New Zealand
Aakash Chopra, a former Indian cricketer, has reacted to online trolling after his prediction regarding India's chase against New Zealand was proven incorrect. During the third T20I match in Wellington, Chopra suggested that a target of over 170 runs would be challenging to achieve.
Despite his forecast, India successfully chased down the 199-run target, scoring 202/4 in just 13.2 overs, securing a six-wicket victory and a 3-0 lead in the five-match series. Following the match, Chopra faced criticism on social media for his earlier comments.
In a video response on ESPNcricinfo, Chopra humorously noted that he had meant India might complete the chase in just 10 overs. He explained that the conditions during New Zealand's innings had led him to believe a high target would be difficult, but acknowledged India's batting performance overwhelmed those expectations. Abhishek Sharma's explosive innings of 113 runs off 38 balls played a crucial role in the victory.
