Aaron Boone to Return as Yankees Manager for 10th Season
The New York Yankees have confirmed that Aaron Boone will return for his 10th season as manager, as reported by multiple media outlets on Monday.
Boone, who is 53 years old, is entering the final year of a two-year, $10.5 million contract extension signed in February 2025. Since taking over from Joe Girardi in December 2017, he has achieved a regular-season record of 790-565.
Under Boone's leadership, the Yankees have made the postseason in eight of his nine seasons, although they have faced challenges, being eliminated in the American League Division Series in the last two years. The team has not won a title in 13 consecutive postseason appearances, marking the fourth-longest such drought in history. Boone's regular-season winning percentage of .583 is notable, and the Yankees have maintained a record of above .500 in each of his seasons, continuing their streak of 34 consecutive winning seasons.
