Aaron Donald's Potential NFL Comeback Gains Momentum

Aaron Donald, a Hall of Fame defensive tackle, recently worked out with the Rams, sparking speculation about his return to the NFL. He has stated that he will only come back if he can perform at a high level, and as the regular season nears, his comeback seems increasingly feasible.

If Donald decides to play again, it is expected that he would join the Rams before their mid-November bye week, allowing him to contribute during the latter part of the season. At 35 years old, he would not need to endure a full 18-game season, which includes a trip to Australia for the season opener.

Donald last played at the end of the 2023 season, where he recorded 13 sacks over his final two years. Despite a perceived decline, he maintained a high performance level, achieving a 90.8 overall PFF grade in his last season. He remains the only player to have ten consecutive seasons with a PFF grade above 90.0 and leads the NFL in total pressures over the past decade. His potential return could see him paired with Myles Garrett, creating a formidable defensive line for the Rams.
