Donald, who has been retired since March 2024, has not played since then but is reportedly working on getting back into football shape. He has expressed a desire to play alongside fellow pass-rusher Myles Garrett. Recently, he participated in workouts at the Rams' facility and was listed on the NFL's 'tryout' list.

The Rams are preparing for their season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, on September 10. If Donald decides to return, the team plans to gradually integrate him into football activities before the game, aiming for him to be on the field for 30-40 snaps.
