Aaron Glenn Praises Frank Reich's Performance as Offensive Coordinator
The New York Jets, after finishing 29th in points scored during Aaron Glenn's inaugural season as head coach, opted to dismiss offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand. Frank Reich was appointed as his successor, and the team also acquired quarterback Geno Smith while making additional adjustments.
However, the Jets have struggled offensively, ranking 27th in points scored and last in red zone efficiency after six games. Their recent loss to the Patriots highlighted issues with failed fourth down conversions, which also impacted their earlier defeat against the Packers. Glenn commented on Reich's performance, stating he believes Reich has done well, while acknowledging areas for improvement.
Injuries have affected key players, including running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. First-round pick Omar Cooper recently returned from an ankle injury and showed promise in the game against the Patriots. The Jets, currently at a 2-4 record, will need to see improved results as the season progresses.
