Aaron Jones to Undergo MRI on Knee Injury
Aaron Jones, running back for the Vikings, exited the game early on Sunday after a 17-yard gain in the fourth quarter. Coach Kevin O’Connell reported that Jones aggravated a previous knee injury sustained earlier in the season.
The injury initially occurred during a Week 2 matchup against the Bears. Although he missed practice the following Wednesday, Jones returned the next day and played in Week 3. An MRI is scheduled for Monday to assess the severity of the injury, with hopes that it will not result in a long-term absence.
With the NFL trade deadline approaching in 16 days, the Vikings may need to expedite their search for a running back if Jones is sidelined. In a positive development, Jordan Mason returned to the lineup after missing four games due to a thumb injury, contributing 15 carries for 68 yards in his comeback.
The Vikings, currently undefeated at 6-0, face a challenging schedule ahead, including games against the Lions, Bills, Packers, and 49ers.
