Aaron Judge Returns to Yankees After Injury Layoff

Aaron Judge has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list and will return to the New York Yankees lineup for their game against the Rockies on Tuesday. This marks his comeback after over three months sidelined due to a right rib stress fracture.

The injury occurred on April 26 while Judge attempted a diving catch. Despite playing through discomfort, his performance suffered, leading to a .528 OPS in 57 plate appearances before his placement on the injured list. Initially expected to miss 4-6 weeks, Judge's recovery extended into the season, culminating in a move to the 60-day IL on July 18.

Judge participated in a live batting-practice session at Yankee Stadium before his return. Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated that Judge may not play every game immediately, suggesting a gradual reintegration into the lineup. The Yankees are currently four games behind the Rays in the AL East and are also vying for a wild card spot, making Judge's health a priority as they approach the postseason.
