Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the Steelers, has announced that the 2026 season will be his last in the NFL, which means he will not play in Green Bay as a visiting player.

Rodgers spent 18 seasons with the Packers before being traded to the Jets in 2023. Since his departure from the NFC North team, neither the Jets nor the Steelers have played at Lambeau Field. The Steelers hosted the Packers last season and are set to face them again in a Thursday preseason game.

During a recent Zoom call with Packers reporters, Rodgers expressed his disappointment that the game is not scheduled in Green Bay, stating he would have liked to visit the facility and reconnect with former teammates and staff. He also mentioned that he hopes to receive an invitation to return to Lambeau after his playing career ends, a prospect he believes is likely due to his significant contributions to the franchise.
