Aaryavir Sehwag Earns Call-Up to India Under-19 Squad

Aaryavir Sehwag has been named in the India under-19 squad for three one-day matches against Australia, scheduled to take place in Rajkot in September. The 18-year-old, son of former cricketer Virender Sehwag, has been under scrutiny since he began playing cricket seriously.

Despite scoring only 24 runs in two matches for the West Delhi Lions during the Delhi Premier League, Aaryavir's confidence and energy were noted by his coach, Udey Gupte. Gupte highlighted Aaryavir's impressive performance in practice and his potential, despite limited T20 experience.

Aaryavir's batting style reflects his father's, particularly his ability to play shots through the off-side. His previous performance includes a remarkable score of 297 for Delhi in the under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 2024.
