Abdulmalik Transfers to Djurgardens for Record Fee

Abdul Abdulmalik has signed with Swedish club Djurgardens from Boreham Wood for a fee believed to surpass £1.5 million, setting a new National League record.

The 23-year-old winger's transfer breaks the previous record for a fifth-tier player in England, which was established in 2012 when Leicester City acquired Jamie Vardy for £1 million. Abdulmalik is currently in Sweden undergoing a medical following the agreement made on Sunday morning.

Last season, Abdulmalik played a pivotal role in Boreham Wood's campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists, helping the team reach the National League play-off final. His transfer concludes a lengthy negotiation process, during which Boreham Wood rejected earlier bids of £1 million and £1.5 million.
