Abubakar Nurmagomedov Announces Return to Combat Sports After Three Years
Abubakar Nurmagomedov, cousin of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, is preparing for his return to competition after a three-year hiatus. His upcoming match is scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Turkey.
Abubakar, who has a record of 2-2 in the UFC, will face Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, the fighter who handed him his last loss in the Octagon. This rematch will occur under the AIGA grappling series, with the bout set for 84 kilograms at the ORA Arena.
Before his departure from the UFC, Abubakar experienced a mix of success and challenges, including a notable incident during UFC 229. After a brief stint in MMA with the Global Fight League, which did not hold any events, he is now ready to step back into the competitive arena.
