Accuser of Jerry Sandusky Set to Recant Testimony in Court

Ryan Rittmeyer, known as Victim 10 in the Jerry Sandusky case, is anticipated to return to a Centre County Courtroom in September to retract his previous allegations against the former Penn State football coach. This development comes fourteen years after Rittmeyer's testimony during Sandusky's 2012 trial.

In an affidavit dated June 30, 2025, Rittmeyer stated that he no longer has a clear memory of being sexually abused by Sandusky, despite having testified about multiple incidents. He claimed that investigators had influenced his recollections by emphasizing the importance of his testimony in stopping a predator.

Sandusky, who is currently 82 years old, was convicted in 2012 on 45 counts related to the sexual abuse of ten boys and is serving a prison sentence of 30 to 60 years. The upcoming hearing will also feature testimony from Frank Fina, a lead prosecutor in the case, regarding his interactions with Rittmeyer.
