Adam Copeland Announces Retirement Plans and Injury Update on Christian Cage
Adam Copeland has announced that he will retire from wrestling in 2027, following his victory over Josh Alexander on AEW Dynamite, which qualified him for the Clockwork Carnage match at AEW WrestleDream.
This match was Copeland's first since participating in a three-way ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at All Out. During the event, he disclosed that his tag team partner, Christian Cage, suffered a collapsed lung and multiple broken ribs after a ladder incident just five minutes into the match.
Copeland expressed that Cage's determination to finish the match for the fans prompted him to reflect on his own career. He acknowledged that he is no longer the youthful star he once was, accepting the reality of aging in the sport. His announcement was interrupted by Don Callis, who questioned Copeland's future in wrestling and suggested that he might not make it to 2027.
