Adam Copeland to Retire from Wrestling in 2027
Adam Copeland, previously recognized as Edge in WWE, disclosed during Wednesday's Dynamite that he intends to retire from professional wrestling in 2027. This announcement marks the second time he has confirmed an end to his wrestling career.
Copeland, alongside his longtime friend Christian Cage, participated in a three-way tag team ladder match at All Out, a match type they invented nearly 30 years ago. Although they competed fiercely, they lost the AEW Tag Titles, and Cage sustained significant injuries, including broken ribs and a punctured lung, which influenced Copeland's decision to retire.
Looking ahead, Copeland has secured a spot in the upcoming Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream, which presents an opportunity for him to vie for the AEW World Championship. He aims to capture this title before his retirement, having previously won 11 World Championships throughout his career, all during his time in WWE. Copeland's first retirement occurred in 2011 due to health issues, but he returned to wrestling in 2020 and is now preparing for his final chapter.
