Adam Simpson and John Longmire Address North Melbourne Coaching Vacancy

Adam Simpson and John Longmire, both former players for North Melbourne, have been approached regarding the club's vacant coaching role after Alastair Clarkson was dismissed. The two have significant ties to the team, with Simpson playing 306 games and Longmire 200 games during their careers.

In a recent discussion, Longmire emphasized the need to let the situation settle before making any decisions, reflecting on his deep-rooted connection to the club since his youth. Simpson, who previously coached alongside Clarkson at Hawthorn, expressed shock at the news and stated that he has not given much thought to the coaching position out of respect for Clarkson's circumstances.

While Simpson had considered other coaching roles in the past, he ultimately chose not to pursue them. Longmire remains with the Sydney Swans after resigning following the 2024 grand final defeat. North Melbourne's president, Dr. Sonja Hood, indicated that the club has not yet identified a preferred candidate and will explore various options.
