Adam Vinatieri Jokes About Bill Belichick During Hall of Fame Speech
Adam Vinatieri, the former kicker for the Patriots and Colts, was inducted into the Hall of Fame on a day when Bill Belichick, the former coach of the Patriots and Browns, was notably absent.
During his acceptance speech, Vinatieri humorously speculated that Belichick missed the ceremony due to the start of training camp, only to reveal that the coach was actually attending his girlfriend's cheerleading competition. Despite the jest, Vinatieri expressed his admiration for Belichick, calling him the greatest coach of all time.
This isn't the first time a Hall of Fame inductee has poked fun at Belichick; last year, Mary Kay Cabot made a similar remark about their past interactions when he coached the Browns. Belichick is expected to have his own moment to respond when he delivers his acceptance speech next year.
