Adley Rutschman Set for Red Sox Debut Against Blue Jays

The Boston Red Sox are preparing for the debut of catcher Adley Rutschman, who has been on the injured list since mid-July due to left wrist inflammation. Rutschman is expected to play against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night in Toronto, as confirmed by interim manager Chad Tracy following a loss on Monday.

Rutschman was acquired from the Orioles on August 3 as part of a seven-player trade that also included Jake Rogers. He recently completed a minor-league rehab stint with Triple-A Worcester, where he recorded a .200 batting average with a double and two walks in seven plate appearances.

This season, Rutschman has an OPS of .764, significantly higher than the combined .630 OPS of Red Sox catchers, who have struggled throughout the year. His addition comes as the Red Sox aim to maintain their strong performance, having won 27 of their last 34 games and currently holding a second wild-card position in the American League.
