AEW Faces $30 Million Loss on Fight Forever Video Game
AEW has reportedly suffered a financial setback of at least $30 million related to its Fight Forever video game, according to a recent report. The game's development faced significant delays, with its release pushed from 2022 to the summer of 2023, coinciding with the Forbidden Door event.
Insider Gaming's Mike Straw highlighted that the prolonged development period increased costs and that sales fell short of initial expectations, reaching only half of what was anticipated. Currently, there is no agreement between AEW and the game's developer, Yuke's, regarding future projects.
Despite the challenges, AEW retains ownership of the gaming engine and may explore partnerships with other developers in the future. There are indications that AEW is open to revisiting video game projects, although discussions about potential licensing with third parties remain unclear.
