AEW Redemption Pay-Per-View Buys Update
Recent estimates indicate that AEW Redemption's pay-per-view buys could be the lowest of the year, with projections between 115,000 and 125,000. Despite this, there was a notable increase in Google searches, which rose by 41 percent domestically and 25 percent globally compared to the previous event, Forbidden Door.
While early indicators showed some positive trends, streaming numbers on HBO MAX and other platforms reportedly declined compared to Forbidden Door and Dynasty, which had the lowest figures earlier this year. AEW Dynasty is estimated to have garnered around 145,000 buys, with Forbidden Door trending slightly lower.
Factors contributing to the lower expectations for Redemption included the absence of several prominent AEW stars and the rescheduling of a highly anticipated match between Kenny Omega and MJF to a television event. Notable wrestlers missing from the Montreal show included Swerve Strickland, Mercedes Mone, and Kazuchika Okada.
