Afghanistan Defeats Ireland by 92 Runs in 2nd ODI
In the second ODI held at Bready Cricket Club, Afghanistan triumphed over Ireland by 92 runs, with Rashid Khan achieving a remarkable six-wicket haul. This match took place on Friday, following the abandonment of the opening ODI due to rain.
Afghanistan batted first and scored 299 for 8 in 47 overs. Ibrahim Zadran contributed significantly with 84 runs, while Sediqullah Atal added 45. Despite a challenging start, the team built crucial partnerships, including a 116-run stand between Zadran and Atal.
In response, Ireland began their chase confidently but faltered as Rashid Khan's bowling dismantled their lineup. Ireland was bowled out for 207 in 33.4 overs, with Cade Carmichael scoring 62. Rashid's impressive figures of 6 for 34 were pivotal in securing Afghanistan's victory. The next ODI is scheduled for August 10 at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast.
