AFL Draft 2026: Club Selections and Key Prospects
The AFL Draft scheduled for November 19-20 is anticipated to see a minimum of 54 selections from the 18 clubs, with a maximum of 63 expected. Clubs are preparing to integrate a number of talented young players, including Dougie Cochrane and Cody Walker.
Essendon currently holds the first pick and is likely to bid on Cochrane, which would grant them a compensatory second-round selection. Richmond may also bid on Walker at the second pick, potentially affecting the draft order.
Port Adelaide is projected to utilize the most selections, possibly up to six, while other clubs like Carlton, Collingwood, and Melbourne are expected to make significant moves with their picks. Gold Coast will have only one selection due to previous trades, and clubs are required to use at least three picks during the draft.
