AFL Draft Prospect Arki Butler Expected to Transition Quickly to AFL Level

Arki Butler, a top five prospect in the AFL Draft, is expected to make a quick transition to the AFL after a successful junior career. Despite an injury early in the National Championships, he has emerged as a leading prospect due to his strong performances with the Sandringham Dragons and Brighton Grammar.

Sandringham Dragons coach Rob Harding expressed confidence in Butler's ability to play as a small forward almost immediately at the AFL level. He noted that while the jump from the Talent League to AFL is significant, Butler's talent positions him well for early involvement, with a focus on enhancing his endurance and refining his skills.

Butler is likely to be selected by either Essendon or Richmond, both of which are in need of a forward boost. He is expected to return for the Talent League finals, potentially adding four more games to his season, although his participation in Brighton Grammar's APS grand final remains uncertain.
