AFL Draft Prospect Marcus Prasad Overcomes Injury Setback
Marcus Prasad, a small forward for the Dandenong Stingrays, faced a challenging setback due to a four-month ankle injury sustained in Round 3. Initially fearing that this injury would jeopardize his chances of being drafted, Prasad has since recovered and engaged with eight clubs, positioning himself among a competitive group of small forwards.
Despite the injury, Prasad returned to play seven games, contributing significantly to his team's grand final run with an average of 19 disposals, five tackles, and two goals per game. He expressed frustration during his recovery but credited his family and support system for helping him through the tough times.
Prasad has been inspired by watching AFL games, particularly those featuring Nick Watson, and has maintained a strong connection with his family throughout his journey. His return to the field was marked by a standout performance, which his coach described as the best return from injury he had witnessed.
