AFL Futures Squad Features Sixteen Club-Tied Prospects
Sixteen club-tied prospects are set to participate in the Under-17s Futures showcase game at the MCG on AFL Grand Final Day. The squad was announced on Wednesday and includes several players linked to Tasmania.
Derek Hine, the Devils list boss, will monitor the game closely as the club can pre-sign up to eight 17-year-olds from the 2027 draft class. This situation means that up to 25 players in the game will not be available for the open draft pool.
Among the notable club-tied prospects are Jackson Bridge from Brisbane Academy, Louis Salopek and Zemes Pilot from Port Adelaide, and Koby Bewick, a father-son prospect for Essendon. Other players of interest include Taj Murray, Charlie Fischer, and Henry Allsopp, with Gippsland having the most representation in the squad.
