Reports suggest that Port Adelaide may accept free agency compensation, currently valued at Pick 5, and engage in trades to secure appropriate value for Butters, rather than simply matching bids that could result in three late first-round picks.

AFL football boss Greg Swann emphasized that all trade deals will be evaluated for their merit and will undergo scrutiny as per standard procedures.
