AFL Teams' Air Travel Breakdown for 2027 Revealed
The AFL has announced the travel schedules for the 2027 season, revealing that Geelong will have the least amount of air travel among all clubs. The Cats are expected to spend 23 hours and 55 minutes flying to non-Victorian games, making them the team with the lowest travel burden.
In contrast, Fremantle and West Coast will face the most extensive travel, with each team logging 79 hours and 10 minutes in the air. Other teams with significant travel include Gold Coast at 56 hours and 45 minutes, Brisbane at 55 hours and 40 minutes, and Sydney at 38 hours and 40 minutes.
Round 4 will see the highest total air travel as 16 teams head to South Australia for Gather Round, while Round 5 will have the least travel time. Compared to the previous year, Fremantle's travel time has increased by nearly 10 hours. Some teams, including Carlton, Collingwood, and Melbourne, will also see an uptick in their air travel, while others like the Suns, Swans, and Cats will benefit from reduced flight times.
