Agostino Abbatiello Allegedly Sold Cocaine to Penn State Fraternity Members

Agostino Abbatiello has been identified as the alleged leader of a drug trafficking operation at Penn State, where he reportedly sold cocaine to fraternity members for popularity, as testified by Larz Zeepvat during preliminary hearings on September 2.

Zeepvat, a former Sigma Chi member, stated that after initially purchasing cocaine for personal use, Abbatiello shifted his focus to selling drugs for financial gain and social status. He claimed Abbatiello referred to himself as 'the Godfather' and boasted about his drug profits, which totaled over $123,500 according to a grand jury presentment.

The testimony revealed that Abbatiello and Zeepvat began their drug dealings by sourcing cocaine from Philadelphia before switching to a supplier from Abbatiello's hometown. Zeepvat noted that the largest transaction he witnessed involved 100 grams of cocaine in Spring 2023. Despite recognizing Abbatiello's changing motives, Zeepvat continued to assist in selling drugs due to financial constraints. Abbatiello faces 11 felony charges, while Zeepvat has indicated plans to plead not guilty to his charges.
