Ai Ogura Discusses Battle with Marc Marquez in Malaysian Grand Prix Sprint
During the Malaysian Grand Prix sprint at Sepang, Ai Ogura engaged in a notable battle with Marc Marquez, clarifying that he was not following any orders from Aprilia. Ogura started the race from fourth position and quickly moved up to second after overtaking both Pedro Acosta and Marquez.
As the race progressed, Ogura and Marquez exchanged positions multiple times, particularly at the opening corners. Despite leading for several laps, Ogura ultimately finished fourth, just behind Marco Bezzecchi, who secured the final podium spot. Ogura acknowledged that he struggled with pace, especially as light rain affected the track conditions.
Marquez recognized the challenge Ogura posed during their duel for second place, noting that overtaking him could have jeopardized Ogura's podium position against Bezzecchi. When questioned about any directives from Aprilia to assist Bezzecchi, Ogura firmly denied such claims.
