Ai Ogura Successfully Undergoes Thumb Surgery After Training Accident

Ai Ogura has successfully undergone surgery on his left thumb, which he fractured while training in Japan. The Trackhouse MotoGP team announced the operation took place in Barcelona, performed by Dr. Xavier Mir.

The procedure involved the insertion of a plate to stabilize the fracture. Ogura's condition will be evaluated over the weekend to develop a rehabilitation plan. It remains uncertain if he will be fit for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix scheduled for September 11-13.

Ogura, currently third in the championship standings, was forced to withdraw from the Aragon Grand Prix due to the injury sustained during a training crash near Tokyo. This incident has impacted his championship aspirations as he trails the leader by 37 points.
