Ai Ogura to Undergo Check for San Marino MotoGP Return

Japanese rider Ai Ogura is scheduled for a radiological check on Tuesday to evaluate his left thumb injury, which required surgery on August 27. He hopes to compete in the San Marino MotoGP after missing the Aragon round due to this injury.

The assessment will be conducted by Dr. Xavier Mir's team, who performed the surgery, alongside Ogura and the Trackhouse team. Their decision will determine if he is fit to travel to Misano.

Ogura currently ranks fifth in the MotoGP standings with 203 points, trailing leader Jorge Martín by 53 points. Following a crash during a motocross practice session in Japan, he underwent surgery in Barcelona after a fracture was discovered. He has been focusing on rehabilitation since the operation and will also have a final examination by MotoGP Medical Director Dr. Angel Charte in Misano before the race.
