Aidan Miller Makes Competitive Return to Baseball After Injury

Aidan Miller, a prospect for the Philadelphia Phillies, made his long-awaited return to competitive baseball after nearly a year of recovery from a back injury. The 21-year-old infielder debuted for the Single-A Clearwater Threshers on Saturday night at BayCare Ballpark.

In his first game back, Miller recorded one hit in two at-bats, including a line-drive double that reached 109.1 mph. He also walked and scored a run, although he made one error while playing shortstop for five innings. This appearance marked his first since September 18, 2025, when he played with the IronPigs.

Miller, who was a first-round draft pick in 2023, had missed the entire 2026 season due to ongoing back issues. After being diagnosed with discogenic pain and facet inflammation, he underwent a minimally invasive procedure to alleviate the pain. His return to the field is seen as a positive development for both him and the organization, especially as the minor-league season comes to a close.
