
Aiden Bonar Announces Retirement from Professional Football
Aiden Bonar, a former defender for Greater Western Sydney and North Melbourne, has declared his retirement from professional football.
The 27-year-old played the 2026 season with Williamstown in the VFL, where the club confirmed his retirement via social media on Friday.
Bonar was selected with Pick 11 in the 2017 National Draft by the Giants and spent two seasons there before requesting a trade to North Melbourne. Over his six seasons in the AFL, he played a total of 34 games, including six with the Giants and 28 with the Roos. After being delisted at the end of the 2023 season, he joined Williamstown, where he participated in 31 games, including five finals.
