A.J. Brown Struggles in Return to Patriots Lineup
The New England Patriots welcomed back wide receiver A.J. Brown on Sunday after he missed four games due to an ankle injury. However, his performance revealed signs of rust as he struggled throughout the match against the Jets.
Brown was targeted 10 times by quarterback Drake Maye but managed only three receptions, alongside three dropped passes. He also mishandled an onside kick late in the fourth quarter, which was recovered by tight end Eli Raridon, helping the Patriots secure a 26-19 victory.
Following the game, Brown acknowledged his poor performance, stating that he is capable of better and that his timing was off. He emphasized that the injury did not impact his play. The Patriots will need him to improve quickly as they prepare for a Thursday night game against the Bears, especially if fellow receiver Romeo Doubs is unable to play due to a shoulder injury sustained during the game.
